About the ECPR courses and Module I
The European Society of Pediatric Radiology (ESPR) is dedicated to advancing excellence in pediatric imaging through education, research, and professional development. Guided by its Education Committee, ESPR organizes high-quality courses for pediatric radiologists and related professionals, including the renowned European Courses in Pediatric Radiology (ECPR), which serve as a pathway to obtaining the European Diploma in Pediatric Radiology (EDiPR).
The ECPR is a cornerstone of ESPR's educational initiatives, offering two structured annual courses: a fundamental digital course (Module I) and an advanced hybrid course (Module II). These courses are designed to comprehensively cover the European Society of Radiology (ESR) training curriculum across specialized topics, such as:
- Pediatric chest imaging, including neck and cardiovascular systems (Modules I & II)
- Pediatric musculoskeletal imaging, including systemic diseases (Modules I & II)
- Pediatric abdominal imaging (Modules I & II)
Module I: Chest, Heart, and Neck Imaging, held in 2024, served as an essential introductory course, expertly organized and led by Prof. Dr. Eftimia Alexopoulou. This module provided participants with a strong foundation in pediatric imaging, addressing key techniques such as radiographs, ultrasound, CT, and MRI. It also covered critical topics, including radiation safety, neonatal chest diseases, congenital pulmonary abnormalities, and imaging in intensive care settings.
The knowledge gained in Module I forms the groundwork for Module II, the advanced course to be held in Rotterdam, which will emphasize state-of-the-art imaging techniques and hands-on workshops focusing on pediatric neck, chest, and cardiovascular imaging.
The ECPR curriculum is meticulously crafted to align with European training standards, offering a world-class learning experience for professionals committed to advancing their expertise in pediatric imaging.
